South West Flavour Trail
Hamper Details
If you spent a weekend following the flavours of WA's south, this is the hamper you'd come home with as a gift for someone special.
The first stop is Chapman Hill, to visit Whicher Ridge Winery and collect its Odyssey Garden Shiraz 2019. This vineyard is also home to Australia's only Wine Sensory Garden, where visitors discover how the aromas, flavours and textures of wine connect with the plants growing around them.
From there, the trail heads to Wilyabrup for Beetroot Relish from Olio Bello, paired with Blue Cheese & Manjimup Truffle Crackers from Margaret River Cracker Co in nearby Dunsborough.
A little further along, Rosa Brook brings two favourites from The Berry Farm, Black Olive Tapenade and Quince Paste, before the journey continues into Margaret River for Vasse Virgin's Pickled Blueberries, a wonderful accompaniment to a good soft cheese.
You would have to stop at one of the weekend markets for Solarfruit's Chocolate Coated Dried Plums, they're made in Capel and add just the right balance of sweetness to round out the experience.
And, if you had the time, you would wind south to Denmark for Spiced Marinated Garlic Pickles from A Bit on the Side which you will find at the Denmark Good Food Factory where you would also enjoy an ice cream while you're there.
To make this hamper really gift-worthy, you would include a handcrafted serving board, made by Paul from WA Wood Design using reclaimed Western Australian timber. He showcases his creations at the Dunsborough and Busselton weekend markets in the South West. Available in golden marri or rich jarrah, it's ready to become part of many more afternoons filled with good food, good wine and good company.

What's Inside?
WA Wood Design Marri Serving Board
Handcrafted from Marri, an elegant West Australian timber with warm honey tones and striking dark veins, this sleek serving board turns rescued offcuts into functional art. A distinctive and thoughtful keepsake for any gift hamper. Approximately 29.5cm x 14cm. As these are made from natural timber, the colours and markings in each board will be unique.
Howard Park Miamup Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 750mL
Margaret River is renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon with this one being full of the flavours of the region - ripe dark fruit & berries, subtle oak and a hint of vanilla.
The Berry Farm Quince Paste 200g
Hints of apple, pear and citrus. Pair with any soft or hard cheese, particularly Brie.
A Bit on The Side Marinated Garlic Pickles 250g
Whole cloves of garlic, the pickling removes the bitterness and mellows the flavour (we promise!). Delicious on a cheeseboard, antipasto plate or straight from the jar.
Sabina Farm Marinated Mixed Olives 320g
These really are from the farm, and one of the most beautiful properties in the South West. Mixed olives marinated with fresh herbs. A must for a grazing plate on a sunny afternoon.
Hippo Lakes Caramelised Onion Chutney 210g
Mmmm, sweet, sticky and a little bit savoury. Handmade in the South West, this is for dolloping on just about everything. It brings the pizzazz to just about any meal.
Margaret River Cracker Co - Rosemary & Rock Salt 110g (GF)
Crunchy crackers infused with local rosemary & sea salt, they're also the perfect shape for scooping. Handmade in small batches by a lovely husband & wife team in the Margaret River region.
Ogilvie & Co Chocolate Muscatel Grapes 60g
Australian vine-ripened muscatel grapes, perfect for a cheese board or charcuterie.
Margaret River Truffle Farm - Truffle Chocolate 75g (V)
Stone ground dark chocolate has been blended with fresh truffle from the Margaret River region & given a little sparkle from sea salt. The perfect way to end a beautiful meal.
WA Wood Design by Paul
Paul at WA Wood Designs is a true craftsman, creating beautiful serving and kitchen boards from salvaged WA timbers that would otherwise go to waste. Working from his home workshop, he shapes each piece by hand, letting the natural character of the wood guide the design. His wife Jackie gives every board its final touch, applying multiple layers of food-grade oil that bring out the grain and give a high-end finish. You’ll often find Paul & Jackie at the Busselton & Dunsborough weekend markets and others around the wider South West, sharing their work with locals and tourists who want to take home a stunning piece of our region’s timbers.
