Franck and Emma’s love of good food shines through in every jar of Crunch Preserves. After travelling the world in search of flavour, this French-trained chef and his food-loving partner settled in Margaret River, inspired by its fresh produce and simple beauty.
Nougat & Nice
Nougat & Nice is the creation of pâtissier chef SarahSorensen, who’s been perfecting her gorgeous nougat since 2016. She keeps the ingredients simple but the flavours creative. She uses less sugar and real honey and has developed her own recipes with a softer, balanced finish and flavour combinations that balance tradition and innovation. These are small batch nougats, handmade with a love in their kitchens in Bunbury.
Hippo Lakes
Tucked away in Chapman Hill near Busselton, Hippo Lakes is a family-run café and farm shop where you can dine on a shaded verandah overlooking the peaceful gardens and wide-open lawns. The farm shop is laden with unique gifts, bunches of flowers and, of course, their delicious cakes and preserves to take home. It’s a place to relax, wander and enjoy good food.
The Margaret River Truffle Farm
Ben and Charmaine run a small, family-owned truffle farm tucked into the native forests of the Margaret River region. Their farm is home to oak and hazelnut trees inoculated for black winter truffles, and in winter you can join one of their truffle hunts led by friendly dogs, dig up real truffles yourself and learn all about how these gourmet treasures grow. They’ve created delicious gourmet produce that showcase the truffles beautifully, their Truffle Balsamic is a standout. This is a down-to-earth, authentic farm experience that gives you a real taste of local truffle magic.
WA Wood Design by Paul
Paul at WA Wood Designs is a true craftsman, creating beautiful serving and kitchen boards from salvaged WA timbers that would otherwise go to waste. Working from his home workshop, he shapes each piece by hand, letting the natural character of the wood guide the design. His wife Jackie gives every board its final touch, applying multiple layers of food-grade oil that bring out the grain and give a high-end finish. You’ll often find Paul & Jackie at the Busselton & Dunsborough weekend markets and others around the wider South West, sharing their work with locals and tourists who want to take home a stunning piece of our region’s timbers.
Ollie & Harper
Inspired by her grandchildren and a lifelong love of sewing, the maker behind Ollie & Harper creates beautifully handmade baby clothing and accessories in WA’s south west. Each piece, from soft rompers to smocked dresses and keepsake gifts, is crafted with comfort, quality and timeless charm in mind. Sandra’s creations are a reflection of slow, thoughtful craftsmanship made to be cherished for life’s gentlest beginnings.
Margaret River Cracker Co.
Nicci and Bryce run this small, locally owned Dunsborough business, handmaking the crackers found on just about every grazing board in the South West. They make them in small batches using real, local ingredients – fresh herbs from their own garden, garlic from a local organic supplier, cheeses from the south west and truffles sourced from the region. Their range includes both classic and gluten-free options, they’ve developed a gluten-free recipe where there’s no compromise on quality or flavour. This is a real success story, with their crackers earning national awards and a loyal local following along the way.
Hide + Soak
Hide + Soak grew from founder Amee’s own experience of trying to do everything and putting herself last. Magnesium became the simple thing that helped her reset, and it inspired her to start creating blends that were natural, uncomplicated and genuinely supportive. Today, she handcrafts magnesium bath and foot salts using pure ingredients and her own essential-oil blends, made to help ease tired muscles, support sleep and bring a little calm into busy days. She also makes a highly concentrated Magnesium Oil Spray, sourced from natural mineral deposits and designed for fast absorption. Whether used after exercise, before bed or during a quiet moment, each product is a small reminder that real self-care should feel easy and accessible.
Someday Somehow
Someday Somehow is a tiny craft brewery in Vasse run by two mates who are all about brewing proper gluten-free beer. They use sorghum, quinoa, rice and corn instead of traditional barley, and they’ve developed their own method that gives their beers real flavour and character - no boring beers here. They’re just getting started, but their gluten-free crafties already have a loyal following. You’ll often spot them at markets around the South West, sharing tastings and chatting with locals who appreciate a gluten-free beer that actually tastes great.
Temper Temper
Temper Temper Fine Chocolate is run by chocolatiers Roz and Georgia, whose kitchen is always full of creativity (and usually loud music). From their Cowaramup shop, and their new Margaret River location, they handcraft a huge range of unique chocolates using premium ingredients and plenty of imagination. With backgrounds in food and a shared love of experimenting, they’ve created a much-loved local brand known for flavours that are fun, surprising and always a hit with locals and visitors.
Margaret River Roasting Co.
You know you're arrived as soon as you get out the car at their place in Vasse. You can grab a coffee and a snack, as well as their various blends. It couldn't be any fresher, they're roasting just on the other side of the window. We like their goal, "To roast great coffee, do good where we can, and bring people together along the way."
Janthina Soaps
Karen runs Janthina Soaps from her family property overlooking the forests of Yallingup, where she handcrafts natural soaps, shampoo bars and body products in small batches. Each bar is made from scratch using the traditional cold-process method, then cured for 4–6 weeks to create a long-lasting, gentle soap. She uses high-quality natural oils and butters, colours them with clays and botanicals, and scents them only with pure essential oils - never synthetic fragrances or micas. With plastic-free packaging and a focus on sustainability, Janthina Soaps is all about simple, honest skincare that’s kind to both people and the planet.
Chocconutz
We thought we knew nut butter, we were wrong! Kat & Silvie from Chocconutz in WA’s Great Southern are creating the most delicious combinations you could imagine using the finest quality, all-natural ingredients. This is a small, family-owned business making small batch artisan nut butter with a commitment to sustainable practices and including real local ingredients into their flavour combinations.
GH Produce
Glen Hagger founded GH Produce out of a simple need for clean, gluten-free food that actually tasted great. A chef and surfer from the coast of WA, Glen started experimenting with local ingredients in his kitchen, creating the original Gatherer Hunter Granola to fuel life on the move - from early morning surf checks to long hikes and road trips. What began at farmers’ markets has grown into a full range of granolas, energy bars, porridges and spice blends, all crafted with real ingredients.
The Herbal Emporium
Aren’t the timber labels on The Herbal Emporium teas just beautiful? Created by Margaret River naturopath and herbalist Emma Chapman-Sharp, these handcrafted blends bring together her deep knowledge of herbs and her passion for nurturing wellbeing through beautiful flavour. Using premium loose-leaf ingredients and inspired by traditional recipes refined over 20 years, each blend turns a simple tea ritual into a special moment to enjoy on your own or share with a friend.
Solarfruit
Sue & Steve at Solarfruit create incredible sun-dried fruit bars and treats in Donnybrook, using premium local fruit and a slow, natural drying process. Their fruit is dried gently in the sun rather than being washed, resulphured or oven-dried like many commercial products, which means the flavour stays just like when the fruit came from the orchard. They’ve been making these products since 1994, and their commitment to quality and simple ingredients has made them a much-loved South West favourite.
Jibba's Hot Sauce
Bursting with personality and flavour, Jibbas Hot Sauce has become a little bit legendary in the south-west. Chef Alex Gibson is a local powerhouse, making his mark on the food scene with award-winning hot sauces that range from having just a little kick, right up to the big guns that will even test the mettle of a Habanero Master. If you like it hot, a visit to Jibbas in Busselton is a must.
Wildkind
We love this small business from Albany, WA, they're doing everything right. They make high quality, clean dog treats using ingredients sourced locally and ethically. Nothing is added, it's just 100% meat. They've also got options for dogs with sensitive tummies or allergies (check out the camel jerky). What a wonderful way to make a dog's day by including something for them in a gift hamper!
Ryan & Co Candlemakers
Ryan & Co is a family-run candlemaking business founded by Bronwyn Ryan in Bunbury back in 2016. They’ve always believed in the power of fragrance to lift a space, and they pair that love of scent with a commitment to sustainability. Every candle is made from 100% soy wax and poured into recycled containers crafted from used wine bottles, a clever way to keep things local, thoughtful and low-impact.
