There’s something special about those moments when the sky softens, the first stars begin to appear and the warm glow of twilight fills the South West. Twilight in the South West captures that feeling perfectly.

It begins with a beautifully handcrafted jarrah serving board by Paul from WA Wood Designs, rich wood tones and natural grain that brings the region’s character to the table and is a lovely reminder for them to keep. Alongside sits the 2024 Shiraz from MadFish, a wine that celebrates its heritage with juicy dark-berry fruit and subtle spice and is an elegant companion for the board and its snacks.

From Morish Nuts, there are Roasted & Salted Macadamias - simple, Australian, and satisfying. The trio of relishes and chutneys includes Zucchini Relish from Olio Bello, Tomato Chutney from The Fat Hippo, and Fig & Szechuan Pepper Jam from Crunch Preserves.  For scooping we’ve included the Smoked Vintage Cheddar Crackers from Margaret River Cracker Co.

For dipping crusty bread, there’s the Parmesan-Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Olio Bello and Dukkah from Hippo Lakes with combined flavours of almond, cashew and hazelnut.  A perfect match for the wine.

For a final touch, Dark Chocolate Coffee Beans from Temper Temper brings a little spark as the evening truly sets in.

WA Wood Design by Paul

Paul at WA Wood Designs is a true craftsman, creating beautiful serving and kitchen boards from salvaged WA timbers that would otherwise go to waste. Working from his home workshop, he shapes each piece by hand, letting the natural character of the wood guide the design. His wife
Jackie gives every board its final touch, applying multiple layers of food-grade oil that bring out the grain and give a high-end finish. You’ll often find Paul & Jackie at the Busselton & Dunsborough weekend markets and others around the wider South West, sharing their work with locals and tourists who want to take home a stunning piece of our region’s timbers.
