Whisky has a natural affinity with fruit, and this hamper explores the darker, richer end of it and all from the South West.

Plum, Persian wild fig, strawberry and cherry appear in different forms, most with a generous coating of chocolate. There's sweetness, but also the tartness of fruit, the depth of dark chocolate and a savoury counterpoint of rosemary crackers and beetroot & plum chutney.

Woodlands Batch #5 Single Malt Whisky is particularly well suited to these flavours. Made in WA's Great Southern, at the base of the Porongurup Range, this single-cask whisky has its own fruit character, with orchard fruit and gentle spice giving way to caramel, toasted almond and creamy vanilla. Matured in an ex-bourbon cask, it has the warmth and complexity to hold its own amongst the fruit and chocolate.

And, if flavour's not enough, Woodlands Batch #5 was awarded Gold at the 2025 Perth Royal Distilled Spirits Awards and Silver at the 2026 Melbourne Spirit Awards, adding some serious credentials to a whisky that is produced in very limited quantities.

Whisky & Wild Fruit shows a different side of whisky, rich with fruit and chocolate, but with enough contrast to keep things interesting.
