Hamper Details

The Woodlands Whisky Table starts with two things we do particularly well in this corner of WA, good whisky and beautiful timber.

Woodlands Batch #5 Single Malt Whisky is produced grain to glass at the base of the Porongurup Range in the Great Southern. Local grain, natural spring water from the property and maturation in a single ex-bourbon cask result in a whisky with orchard fruit and gentle spice, followed by caramel, toasted almond and creamy vanilla. It's a multi-award winner earning Gold at the 2025 Perth Royal Distilled Spirits Awards and Silver at the 2026 Melbourne Spirit Awards.

The serving board is handmade by Paul at WA Wood Design in Australind, using reclaimed Western Australian timber. Each one has its own grain, markings and colour, so no two are quite the same. Choose from marri or jarrah and, once the food is gone and the whisky bottle is empty, this beautiful keepsake remains to be used again.

The food has been chosen with the serving board in mind. Marinated olives and garlic sit alongside caramelised onion chutney and blue cheese & Manjimup truffle crackers, giving the beginnings of a very good grazing board — they just add their favourite cheese. Chocolate-coated Rosa Brook figs provides a little bit of richness to finish with the whisky.

This hamper is all about the flavours of Western Australia. Whisky from the Great Southern, a serving board handmade from WA timber and food from producers across the South West.

Meet the Maker

WA Wood Design by Paul

Paul at WA Wood Designs is a true craftsman, creating beautiful serving and kitchen boards from salvaged WA timbers that would otherwise go to waste. Working from his home workshop, he shapes each piece by hand, letting the natural character of the wood guide the design. His wife Jackie gives every board its final touch, applying multiple layers of food-grade oil that bring out the grain and give a high-end finish. You’ll often find Paul & Jackie at the Busselton & Dunsborough weekend markets and others around the wider South West, sharing their work with locals and tourists who want to take home a stunning piece of our region’s timbers.
