There’s no shortage of flavour in Whisky, Smoke & Fire.
Multi-award winning Woodlands Batch #5 Single Malt Whisky is joined by smoked almonds, chilli jerky, black lime & chilli peanuts, chilli crackers and chilli jam, with a smoked honey & garlic BBQ sauce adding another layer of rich, savoury flavour. There's certainly heat here, but smoke, garlic, citrus and sweetness keep it interesting rather than simply making everything hot.
The whisky itself comes from one of the most striking corners of WA, at the base of the Porongurup Range in the Great Southern, using locally grown grain and natural spring water from the property. Matured in a single ex-bourbon cask, this small-batch single malt shows orchard fruit and gentle spice before moving into caramel, toasted almond and creamy vanilla.
It's also a whisky with some impressive awards having received Gold at the 2025 Perth Royal Distilled Spirits Awards and, more recently, Silver at the 2026 Melbourne Spirit Awards.
Whisky, Smoke & Fire has some heat, but flavour comes first with everything a perfect match for this very good single malt.

Paul at WA Wood Designs is a true craftsman, creating beautiful serving and kitchen boards from salvaged WA timbers that would otherwise go to waste. Working from his home workshop, he shapes each piece by hand, letting the natural character of the wood guide the design. His wife Jackie gives every board its final touch, applying multiple layers of food-grade oil that bring out the grain and give a high-end finish. You’ll often find Paul & Jackie at the Busselton & Dunsborough weekend markets and others around the wider South West, sharing their work with locals and tourists who want to take home a stunning piece of our region’s timbers.
