The Cottage Garden

Picture afternoon tea in a cottage garden with pretty little bowls of berries and biscuits that have been laid out on a linen tablecloth, a pot of tea ready to serve and perhaps some freshly made scones with fig jam. That's the inspiration for The Cottage Garden hamper.

This hamper is a wonderful choice for someone that enjoys time in their garden, or has perhaps moved into a new home, or just needs a little lift and something to make them smile.  

All the best cottage gardens have a fig tree so we've included the delicious Fig Jam from The Berry Farm and, as a nod to the hardest workers in the garden, Strawberry-infused Raw Honey from Wedderburn Honey.  From Bettenay's we've included Cranberry & Pistachio Nougat and, because every afternoon tea needs bikkies, there's the Butter Shortbreads from Ogilvie & Co.

And, ripe for the picking are Chocolate Coated Dark Red Cherries from Bahen & Co and Dark Chocolate Coated Freeze Dried Strawberries from Temper Temper.  

But it's Lucinda's Everlasting Daisy Seeds that really capture the essence of a cottage garden.  Everlasting seeds are very easy to sow in autumn or early winter and will bloom for months in garden beds and post, and the best thing about them is that, if you let them, they will do it all over again next year.  Their pretty pink and white flowers can be picked and dried in bunches to put around the house and will last for years making these a a very thoughtful gift that will bring a lot of happiness.
